Clair has always had a passion for dogs, one of her best friends from childhood was a little brown Toy Poodle named KOKO, he went everywhere with her & the two of them were inseparable.

Clair worked in a kennels during school holidays and at weekends as a young teenager, she loved being with the dogs & caring for them. When she had the opportunity to attend shows she was in her element, she really enjoyed this side of things & was like a sponge soaking up any information on coat care, styles, trims, the most appropriate equipment to use etc. Also in order to work as a team with the particular dog she was showing she would need to build a mutual respect, love & trusting bond with them, this came naturally to her & her kind, caring & compassionate nature stood her in good stead for the future career that lay before her.

Clair purchased her first Scottish Terrier in 1992, this little dog was called Fliss & she was mated when she was of an appropriate age & produced the first Scottie litter for Clair, this is when the affix BERRYBREEZE was first applied for & that first litter arrived in the summer of 1995, to date she has made up 10 UK Champions in the breed & numerous overseas Champions.

Clair also judges Scottish Terriers at Championship level in UK & Internationally

Clair started grooming as a business in 1993, also working at dog shows for Dorwest Herbs. Shortly after, she was given the opportunity to rent a room at Thatchers Pet Shop in Wells to base her grooming from, this was a lovely opportunity to be involved with other pet professionals & meet some wonderful dogs & their owners, who soon became much valued & adored clients, happily many of those original clients are still loyal to us today, although their dear pets of the time have long since passed away, they now bring their new family members to Clair to be cared for & given beautiful trims.

From the age of 13 years Clair has enjoyed working with dogs & that naturally evolved into the business you all know today, Clair's Canine Creations. For those of you who have been with us since the start & joined us along the way, heartfelt thanks, it has been a lot of fun & a pleasure for us, for those of you whom we are yet to meet, we are looking forward to hearing from you & caring for your Best Friend for years to come.
